AND BLOOMBERG ADMINISTRATION NEGOTIATE THE BUDGET
DOWN TO THE WIRE – CITY BUDGET
LIKELY TO BE FINISHED IN NEXT 2-3 WEEKS
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP OPPOSE CUTS:
- Join CSCS at a press conference on City Hall steps, Tuesday, June 15th, 10:00-11:00. Please arrive by 9:45 to get through security. RSVP Cindy Tomm, (212) 398-6565 x236. Bring signs opposing cuts!
- Get as many people as possible to sign flyers opposing cuts to senior centers and home care which are more cost-efficient than nursing homes. Go to www.cscs-ny.org, the 5/24/10 ALERT. Mail flyers to your Councilmember.
- Call your Councilmember with the message: “No cuts to senior services. We’re counting on you.”
- Watch the CSCS video on our website – “Budget Cuts Hurt: Making the Invisible Visible” – hear the voices of seniors impacted by cuts. Please pass the video along to others especially Councilmembers and their staff. These seniors deserve five minutes of their time to watch the video and be heard.
- Contact local press – Tell them about the cuts to senior services and your program. Have them call Bobbie Sackman for a citywide overview, (212) 398-6565 x226.
