New Bill Payer Program

Referral Contact

As of April 1, 2009, CSCS will coordinate the Volunteer Bill Payer Program from its Manhattan office. Local agencies that previously accepted referrals will no longer do so. In all other respects, the program remains the same. We will continue to serve Manhattan, areas of Brooklyn & Queens and wherever we have volunteers. Volunteers will continue to be matched with clients in their own communities.

CSCS is deeply appreciative to the Executive Directors, staff supervisors, case managers, dedicated ReServists and volunteers of the nine agencies that pioneered the Volunteer Bill Payer Program during its first two years:

The Volunteer Bill Payer Program pairs trained, supervised volunteers with older adults who need help with the tasks of monthly bill paying. Clients make all their own financial decisions and sign their own checks. They gain security and peace of mind knowing that a volunteer will visit once or twice a month to help organize paperwork, write out checks for their signature, and balance the checkbook.
