(CSCS) is a membership organization of more than 200 senior service agencies that serve over 300,000 senior citizens throughout New York City. Our goal is to ensure that the elderly of New York City receive quality services by helping senior service organizations build their capacity to provide superior programs and services through advocacy, training, innovative programming and the exchange of ideas. The SNAP Outreach Program is a partnership between the Council of Senior Centers and Services of NYC, Inc. (CSCS), AARP, and NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA). Our program is striving to end elder hunger by increasing awareness and participation of SNAP and other existing food and benefits programs. The Outreach Program is an innovative and unique model that uses a team of SNAP specialists, recruited ReServists, (highly trained retired professionals) to educate, screen, and assist older adults with their SNAP applications in all five boroughs of NYC.
